Good service, small issue

I used Sleepwise for a custom oral appliance. The initial assessment was free which was nice, and they explained everything well. The appliance itself fit pretty good and has helped with my snoring, but it took about 4 weeks to get it after my impressions, which felt a bit long. Overall, I'm satisfied with the results and the process, just wish the turnaround was quicker.

Detailed experience with oral appliance

I had a custom oral appliance made through Sleepwise after struggling with snoring for years. The ordering process started with an online inquiry, and I quickly got a call back to schedule a diagnostic consultation. The staff during the consultation were very thorough, explaining how mandibular advancement splints work and what to expect. They took impressions for the appliance on the same day. Production took about three weeks, and then I had a follow-up titration appointment to ensure the fit was correct. My appliance arrived securely packaged. While the initial fit felt a little odd, the adjustments at the follow-up made a big difference. Customer support was responsive when I had a question about cleaning the appliance – they got back to me within a day. It's been about two months now, and my sleep has improved noticeably; my partner confirms much less snoring. The cost was substantial, even with a health fund rebate, but for the quality of sleep, it felt worth it. They also offered interest-free payment plans which helped.

Consistent quality over time

This is my second custom oral appliance from Sleepwise, as my old one was due for replacement. My first one lasted over five years. The process was just as smooth this time as it was before. They still offer the same thorough consultations and the fit of the new appliance is excellent, just like the previous one. It's good to see that their quality and service haven't dropped off. That consistency is why I keep coming back for my sleep apnoea management.

Easy to deal with, feeling better

I got one of their snoring mouthguards. The whole thing was pretty straightforward. Went in for the assessment, they took the molds, and then I picked it up later. It wasn't a super fast process, but they kept me in the loop. The mouthpiece works great, really cut down on my snoring, so my wife is happy too. Definitely recommend if you're thinking about it.

Anyone know if you need a referral from your doctor to even get an appointment with these guys?

L Lisa 1 month ago
Nah, you don't need one. I just booked directly online.

N Noor L. 1 month ago
Nope, you can just call them up. I think sometimes your GP might refer you, but it's not a requirement to get in the door.

How do these compare to those cheap over-the-counter mouthguards you can get? Is it worth the extra cost?

J June 1 month ago
Night and day. The cheap ones are garbage, don't waste your money. This is custom fitted.

Massive difference. The OTC ones are just boil-and-bite, they move around, can make your jaw sore, and don't actually hold your jaw forward effectively. The Sleepwise one is custom-made to your mouth, so it's comfortable and actually works to stop the snoring properly.

Is Medicare going to cover any of this treatment? Or is it all out of pocket?

J June T. 1 month ago
I don't think Medicare covers it directly. It's mostly private health fund stuff.

Medicare usually doesn't cover these kinds of dental appliances. Some parts of the sleep study might be covered, but the actual device, not so much. Best to ask them directly about your specific situation.

Anyone used one of these instead of a CPAP? What's your experience been like compared to CPAP?

R Renee 1 month ago
Huge difference for me. CPAP felt like I was drowning, this is way more comfortable and I actually use it every night.

How long does it typically take to actually get the custom appliance once you've had all your appointments and stuff?

M Megan T. 1 month ago
A couple of weeks, from memory. Mine was pretty quick.

From when they took my impressions, it was about 2-3 weeks until I picked it up. They tell you upfront what the timeframe is usually.

Are there any like, discount codes or promo things for Sleepwise? Their stuff looks good but it's a bit pricey.

N Noor Whitfield 1 month ago
Not really codes, but they sometimes have free initial assessments. Also check your private health, I got a good chunk back.

R Rosa 1 month ago
Don't think they do coupon codes. I found out about the health fund rebate which saved me a few hundred, so definitely look into that if you have private insurance.

What's the deal with payment plans? Is it like interest-free kinda thing?

L Lisa D. 1 month ago
Yeah, they do interest-free options. Makes it a lot easier.

N Nina 1 month ago
They offer interest-free payment plans. I signed up for one, it was pretty straightforward to set up and spread the cost out over a few months.

Hey guys, thinking about getting one of these snoring mouthguards. My main concern is if it'll actually fit right. How custom are these really?

C Colin T. 4 weeks ago
They take molds of your teeth, it's not a one-size-fits-all thing. So yeah, pretty custom.

T Todd Y. 4 weeks ago
Mine fit perfectly, they actually make it specifically for your mouth. Like going to the dentist for a retainer, but for snoring. Felt a bit weird at first but totally settled in.
